Burlingame,
CA - The Chinese American Environmental Professionals Association's
(CAEPA) International Conference on Sustainability and Environmental Protection
takes place on October 12 and 13 at the Double Tree by Hilton Hotel at
835 Airport Blvd. in Burlingame, CA. Practitioners and researchers from
the United States and Asia will focus on three areas of environmental concern:
1) Strategies for sustainable development, 2) Re-inventing our waste water
infrastructure and 3) Effective clean up of our air, soil and groundwater.
Speakers
include Harlan Kelly Jr. General Manager of the San Francisco Public
Utilities Commission, 1996 Nobel Laureate in Physics, Dr. Douglas Osheroff
of Stanford University and technical and policy staff from State and local
agencies, the private sector and academia.
The
Chinese American Environmental Professionals Association (CAEPA) founded
in 1988, is a non-profit organization. Through seminars and workshops,
CAEPA provides a forum for the exchange of ideas and knowledge on environmental
issues and policies. Many members have extensive international experience and
continue to work on environmental efforts in Pacific Rim countries.
