Where do Asian Americans &
Pacific Islanders Fit In?

May 7, 2014, Noon to 1:30pm
Location: National Council of LaRaza

The United States is set to become a majority-minority, or majority-people of color, nation by 2043. Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders are central to this process, with the fastest rates of population growth nationwide and in many states. Despite the growing importance of AAPI communities, their policy visibility has been limited until recently due to the lack of public awareness and limited data.

Want to know more about what is happening?  Join APIAVote for lunch in Washington DC on May 7, as we mark Asian Pacific American Heritage Month by featuring new policy reports on issues ranging from ACA enrollment and poverty, to voter registration and education disparities.  We will be releasing state specific fact sheets focused on the Asian American and Pacific Islander electorate.

Sponsoring Organizations: AAPI Data, Asian Americans Advancing Justice, Action for Health Justice, Asian & Pacific Islander American Vote, Asian Pacific American Labor Alliance, Empowering Pacific Islander Communities, Hmong National Development, Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, National CAPACD, National Council of Asian Pacific Islander Physicians, Southeast Asia Resource Action Center.

INSPIRED?  Its not too late to support APIAVote's work and our partners.  For the Asian American and Pacific Islander electorate to continue to be engaged and nurtured to participate, we no longer can afford to do this solely on a volunteer basis.  Make your donation today and be a partner in assisting APIAVote and our community partners in securing the staffing and tools needed to do this important work.
