Malden Basic Rights in Special Education workshop 2/6

Melinda Parry of the Federation for Children with Special Needs will present a workshop on "Basic Rights in Special Education."  The Basic Rights workshop provides families with an introduction to their rights and responsibilities under IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) and Massachusetts Special Education Law. This workshop is designed to help parents and caretakers learn to be effective partners with their child's school to decide their child's eligibility for special education, and to plan make decisions and monitor their child's progress at school.  Melinda Parry will also be available for questions and answerers at the end of her presentation.
We hope you can join the Malden SEPAC (Special Education Parent Advisory Council) on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at the Ferryway School, 150 Cross Street in Malden from 6:30-8:30. A brief  SEPAC business meeting will also be held on this evening.
This event is free for all.  Light refreshments will be served.  For more information, please visit use at www.maldenpac.org
