MAYOR WALSH TO HOST CITY HALL PLAZA PARTY ON BOSTON'S NEW "FRONT LAWN"

BOSTON - Tuesday, July 14, 2015 - Tomorrow, Wednesday, July 15, Mayor Martin J. Walsh will host a City Hall Plaza Party, celebrating the launch of Boston's new "Front Lawn" on City Hall Plaza. The newly expanded stretch of astroturf will be officially rolled out on Wednesday, and will have lawn games, board games and new seating available, as well as music. Food trucks will also be in attendance, including Boston's Baddest Burger, Momogoose and Papi's Stuffed Sopapillas. All are welcome and encouraged to attend. The party will begin at 11:00AM and officially end at 2:00PM. The turf will remain outside until the end of the outdoor season. This newest development is part of Mayor Walsh's efforts to enliven City Hall and the Plaza. From the Adirondack chairs to new tables and lights to brighten up the exterior of City Hall, Mayor Walsh is dedicated to making City Hall and the Plaza a welcoming place people want to visit.
Mayor Walsh will attend the party from 11:45AM to 12:30PM. At 11:45AM, Mayor Walsh will make a special presentation to the New England Center for Homeless Veterans, and then proceed to the party. The Mayor will also announce the winner(s) of the #BOSMeltNow Challenge during the party.

Media parking will be available on the Plaza. For attendees, City Hall Plaza is accessible by MBTA via Haymarket (Orange and Green), State Street (Orange and Blue) or Park Street (Green and Red).
