波士頓風雪停車禁令將於週三晚六點解除

MAYOR WALSH ANNOUNCES PARKING BAN WILL LIFT WEDNESDAY AT 6 P.M

BOSTON - Tuesday, February 17, 2015 - Mayor Martin J. Walsh today announced that Boston’s snow emergency parking ban will lift at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, February 18. The parking ban, which prohibits parking on major arteries, will allow Public Works crews to continue full-scale snow removal operations along key routes of travel overnight. Boston received a total of 16 inches of snow in the most recent snow that ended on Monday, for a total of 7.5 feet since January 23. Boston is closing in on the most snow for a season in recorded history (107 inches).

Last night, the Public Works Department (PWD) removed 1,200 truck loads of snow from across Boston's neighborhoods. The City has removed over 17,000 truckloads
of snow since the first winter storm at the end of January.

From the start of this snow season to today, Boston PWD has plowed 283,254 miles of roadway, put down over 74,000 tons of salt, and plowed for 168,231 hours.

PWD is proactively surveying for potholes and damage to our streets, especially in crosswalks. The City of Boston is building a plan to address the potholes resulting from continuous snow operations.

Information on the storm and clean-up will continued to be updated on boston.gov/snow.
