Mayor Martin J. Walsh will join hundreds of local children and representatives from WGBH, the Highland Street Foundation, and the McGrath family for a ReadBoston Storymobile session at the Tadpole Playground. The playground is the flagship site for the Storymobile and draws over 500 children each week throughout the summer. Mayor Walsh and Brigid Sullivan, with the help of Curious George, will give away more than 1,000 free books and knapsacks, courtesy of WGBH, to all children in attendance.
The event will also feature an unveiling of ReadBoston’s new BookBike, a pedal powered version of the Storymobile that will help serve more kids at neighborhood events this summer and throughout the year.
