STATE SENATOR JOAN LOVELY AND STATE REPRESENTATIVE JOHN KEENAN ENDORSE GROSSMAN FOR GOVERNOR

Both Cite Grossman’s Record of Leadership Creating Jobs and His Progressive Vision for the State

SALEM, MA – State Senator Joan Lovely and State Representative John Keenan officially endorsed Treasurer Steve Grossman’s campaign for governor today, citing his record of leadership creating jobs and his progressive vision for the state.

"Steve has a proven track record of success creating jobs in every region of the state," said Lovely. "As governor he will use his experience to boost the economy in our region and across the Commonwealth. I am proud to support him."

"When it comes to economic opportunity and job creation, the residents of Salem will find no one more qualified than Steve Grossman," said Keenan. "He has the vision and experience we need to grow this economy in every part of the state."

“I’m proud to have Joan and John’s support in my race for governor,” said Grossman. “We share a vision for the North Shore and the entire Commonwealth that promises proven leadership to leave no one behind.”

Senator Lovely was sworn into her first term in the Massachusetts Senate in 2013 and serves as Chair of the Joint Committee on Mental Health and Substance Abuse. She represents the Second Essex District, comprised of Beverly, Danvers, Peabody, Salem, and Topsfield.

Representative Keenan has been Salem’s state representative since 2005. He is Co-Chair of the Joint Committee on Telecommunications, Utilities, and Energy.

Steve Grossman took office as state treasurer in 2011 after a long career as a small businessman, philanthropist, and progressive political activist. He is running for governor because he believes the people of Massachusetts want proven leadership that leaves no one and no region behind.
