Community Responses to a Changing Chinatown, 1940–2000
Michael Liu and Tom Chen will share their current research on community organizing in Boston’s Chinatown. Michael Liu will discuss the relationship between Chinatown and Boston’s African American community. Thomas Chen will discuss the Chinatown community after urban renewal based upon his Ph.D. dissertation, “Remaking Boston’s Chinatown: Race, Place, and Redevelopment After World War II.”
